Skin Stories

Skin Stories is SkinHope's premier program where we invite young leaders to speak about their skin experiences.  Piloted at our main branch in PA, our founder, Casey Kim, has spoken extensively to hundreds of students about her eczema journey, how to feel confident in your skin, and ways to protect your skin.  She has visited several elementary schools to speak to children aged 9-12, distributing worksheets and bookmarks.  Through Skin Stories, students from across the country can speak about their experiences, raising awareness for these conditions and inspiring young people to "be kind to their skin."  This program consists of in-person presentations, outreach to schools/organizations, and a passion for public speaking.  We will provide templates, materials, and any other help needed.  If you have a skin story you would like to share or would like more information, please visit the link below or email us at skinhopeinitiative@gmail.com.

Volunteer Programs

In an effort to inspire hope in our community, we run volunteer programs where students can make cards for hospital patients.  Meeting three days a week, we partnered with a local library to host these card-marking sessions.  Thanks to our wonderful volunteers, we were able to donate over 350 cards to hospital patients in our area.

Children's Programs

Our children's programs focus on teaching young people about skin protective strategies through engaging activities.  We hosted  sessions where children aged 5-10 could learn about skin topics for 45 minutes, once a week, for several months.  These sessions consisted of an activity, a "Fact of the Day," and time to fill our their SkinHope Initiative passports.  Following a game such as Sun Safety Uno, a scavenger hunt, or a matching game, students would learn about and write the Fact of the Day in their passports.  Upon the child's completion of a certain number of sessions, with the passports as proof of attendance, the student was rewarded with a prize!

Donation Drives

We host donation drives to provide essential products to those in need.  Recently partnering with a local high school, we were able to collect over 130 unscented and unopened skincare and hygienic products, which we donated to local nonprofits in the community.  These items included shampoos, conditioners, soaps, lotions, cleansers, moisturizers, and deodorants.
